Case studies - Facade replication

St Paul's Cathedral, London

During 2003 the West elevation of St Paul's Cathedral was undergoing major repairs, renovation and cleaning. This incorporated the main entrance to the Cathedral itself. St Paul's commissioned a building wrap to be displayed which was a full size amplification of a charcoal drawing of the facade designed by Sir Christopher Wren back in the 17th century.

Quote marks When we considered the potential negative impact of the scaffolding of St Paul's on our revenue from tourism, a decorative banner seemed the obvious option. The addition of the banner to the West Front made a magnificent and highly popular contribution to maintaining a welcoming face to the Cathedral.

Leeds Grand Theatre

The Grand Theatre is a Grade II* listed building alongside New Briggate in Leeds city centre. Refurbishment works mean that the external facade will be covered in scaffolding for a period of 9 months from Autumn 2007 to mid Summer 2008.

The theatre is home of the Opera North and hosts many shows and plays throughout the year, and is open almost every day of the year. Whilst work on the main facade is underway the theatre managers are keen to communicate that the theatre is still open. Hence a building wrap depicting the facade incorporating as the centre piece a stunning visual of the Opera North.
